About the Speakers


Tabassum Majid, PhD

Executive Director, Integrace Institute

Dr. Tabassum Majid is bringing hope and promise to the future of neurocognitive disorders. As Executive Director at Integrace Institute, Dr. Majid is leading research and educational initiatives in care practices, technologies, and treatments for those living with, and supporting individuals with, neurocognitive disorders. Dr. Majid applies the Institute’s research findings daily through her work to help families on their journey toward meaningful living. Dr. Majid is committed to sharing the research findings generated by the Institute and its partners on a global scale.

Dr. Majid received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County in Interdisciplinary Studies, concentrating on Neurodegenerative Disorders of the Aged. She gained greater expertise in dementia from both pre-clinical and clinical perspectives when she earned her PhD from Baylor College of Medicine.

She then completed a fellowship at the University of Maryland, School of Pharmacy researching care management decisions with caregivers and individuals with dementia. Her personal and professional focus aligned closely with the mission of Integrace Institute and she was named Executive Director in 2017.

Dr. Majid serves on the Maryland Governor’s Council on Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders where she contributes to the development and implementation of the Maryland State Plan. She was also one of the “The Baltimore Sun's Top 25 Women to Watch in 2018,” recognizing her research, leadership and positive impact in an area of healthcare, that on a global scale, we are only just beginning to understand.



Stacy-Jo Krasa, MSOTR/L

Director of Rehabilitation, Copper Ridge 

Stacy earned her BS/MS degree in Occupational Therapy from D'Youville College in Buffalo, NY. Her work in the rehabilitation field began in 2000 in the hospital and inpatient acute rehabilitation settings. Stacy-Jo has also practiced in home care, outpatient, and sub-acute settings.  In 2017, she graduated from an intense training  program for developing strategic leaders, The Elite Leadership Academy by Functional Pathways.   Stacy-Jo's graduating project focused on creating a therapeutic dining program for individuals with neuro-cognitive deficits.

She currently finds herself continually researching and completing continuing education for sensory processing, cognitive rehabilitation, visual perceptual deficits and home modification. This has further developed her expertise in the field of Occupational therapy to better treat individuals with neuro-cognitive deficits. She is certified as an Ergonomics Assessment Specialist. Stacy-Jo finds immense joy in conducting monthly in-services and educating therapist and care-partners on dementia and approaches to improve the patients' quality of life.
